Liz Chaplin and Nick Kumis join
Steering Committee of Operation: Turn DuPage Blue

Operation: Turn DuPage Blue, a grass roots organization working to elect Democrats in DuPage County, is pleased to announce the addition of Liz Chaplin and Nick Kumis to its Steering Committee, effective immediately.

Chaplin, of Lisle Township, currently serves on the DuPage County Water Commission, where she has been active in fighting the groundwater contamination problem in DuPage. In 2006, she was a Democratic candidate for a seat on the DuPage County Board in District 2.

Kumis, of Wayne Township, is an audiovisual professional who brings added marketing and communications expertise to OTDB and its website: TurnDuPageBlue.com.

Delighted at the strides the entirely volunteer organization has made since its founding in early 2007, OTDB Chair Bob Peickert spoke highly of both Chaplin and Kumis.

"Liz is the 4th county board candidate to serve on the OTDB Steering Committee. She is willing to share her knowledge and experience so that we can elect Democrats in 2008. We appreciate Liz's willingness to help us continue in our efforts to reach out to Democrats in DuPage County.

"Nick has been active and supportive of OTDB from the beginning, and we admired his active involvement in DAWN’s (DuPage Against War Now) efforts to get the Iraq withdrawal issue on the township ballots.
